The unveiling of the 2024 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale supercar positions it as a formidable rival to the Chevrolet Corvette.
The 2024 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, a limited-edition supercar hailing from the Italian luxury brand, has emerged as a formidable rival to the Chevrolet Corvette. This strikingly designed supercar, produced under the Stellantis umbrella, has the capability to exceed 200 mph, delivering a harmonious blend of proportions, volumes, and surface characteristics along with high-performance sports car capabilities, as described by Alfa Romeo.
Alfa Romeo boasts a top speed of 206 miles per hour for the 2024 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. It can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than 3 seconds and decelerate from 60 mph to a complete stop in approximately 100 feet (33 meters), thanks to Alfa Romeo’s exclusive Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and a brake-by-wire system.
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is available in two trim levels, Tributo and Alfa Corse, and offers a choice of two powerplants. The standard model features a twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing over 620 horsepower, mated to an eight-speed DCT transmission, and exclusively offers rear-wheel drive.
Alternatively, buyers can opt for an all-electric version with a robust 750 horsepower. According to WLTP testing, the electric Alfa Romeo 33 offers a range of approximately 280 miles (450 kilometers) on a single charge.
Alfa Romeo’s objective with the 2024 Alfa Romeo 33 is to deliver not only supercar performance but also the comfort and drivability suitable for daily commutes, as implied by the “Stradale” name, which signifies a street-legal version of a race car.
This vehicle takes inspiration from the 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, a limited-production vehicle unveiled at the 1967 Paris Motor Show. Similar to its predecessor, the 2024 Stradale is meticulously handcrafted, with each unit tailored to the buyer’s preferences. It incorporates an aluminum H-frame and carbon-fiber monocoque construction, reminiscent of the aluminum body of the 1967 Stradale, which was groundbreaking in its era.
The 2024 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is being hand-built in a limited run of just 33 vehicles in total. As expected, all production units have already been snapped up by eager customers, each one customized to meet individual preferences.
Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato has hinted that more rivals for the 2024 Corvette are on the horizon, stating, “This is the brand’s first custom-built car since 1969, and I promise it won’t be the last.”
